Dear friends, This is not an easy letter to write. Marilyn and I have decided that, in our current situation, we need to turn to friends and family for help. You may not have heard that we sustained a major earthquake here in Colima, Mexico. We are safe and sound. Gracias a Dios. The epicenter of the 7.8 quake was only a few miles from our ranch. The first week passed with us in a state of such thankfulness to be alive, that the loss of our transformer, that supplies the electricity to our house and farm operations, didn't seem like such a big deal. We have been without electricity before. It wasn't until the aftershocks settled down that that we could focus on what had happened to us. We were out of production for two weeks and now are faced with extensive bills towards repairing our transformer and irrigation system as well as structural repairs to our house and business building. We are now in production with clients waiting for our coconut oil and dried coconut. However we are totally without the money to move forward. Our only assets outside of Mexico are a small property and car in Ohio, and they can not be sold fast enough to solve this situation. We are asking people who have known us well for many years to loan us money to get us back on our feet. We feel that if we find people who are in a position to loan us $500.00 each we will be able to move ahead from this crisis. We do not wish to burden or impose on any of our friends and we will understand if this is not something that you would be comfortable in doing. We place friendship above anything material. Our repayment plan is to pay one person back at a time as we can do so. We will not be at peace until this is done. If you would like to help we have listed our U.S. bank account information. Please notify us by email if you make a transfer so we can record it. FifthThird Bank, Cincinnati, Ohio- Mt.
